The client's objectives were to support subscriber growth, develop a distinct online edition, and identify new sources of revenue. The Interstice Solution: Interstice Networks developed a graphic design and customized content management system suitable for a weekly publication, and introduced an opt-in e-mail newsletter, online ads, and interactive features for users. Among the innovative new features are a dynamic event calendar which categorizes events, a live news feed with topics relevant to the organization's mission, and an opt-in mailing list open to non-members. The site's content was also greatly expanded in order to demonstrate the organization's size, history and scope. The organization's prior paper-based newsletter was converted to an online format where information can be added at any time. The new features Interstice Networks introduced are now the most popular parts of the site. Case 'C' Professional services sectorThe Challenge: A mid-sized law firm selected Interstice Networks to develop their web presence from scratch. The client's principal objective was to create an online "brochure". The Interstice Solution: Interstice Networks not only developed the graphic design, but also introduced the law firm to the potential of using the website to reach out to existing clients. Interstice Networks designed a private client login area which allowed the firm's clients to access specialized research publications, and also provided a secure one-on-one communication forum for exchanging documents and messages. The site's general content includes bios, practice areas, links to the partners' publications, and a news feed relevant to its client base. Interstice Networks also designed the page layouts to rank highly with the major search engines, and ensured the site's registration with the principal Internet directories and those specific to the legal profession and the firm's geographic focus.
